- We are re-entering a pre Cold War mentality and it is very dangerous
I used to think that the point of having nuclear weapons was to deter other people from using them on you- something known in political thought as Mutually Assured Destruction, something Benjamin Netanyahu’s aide brought up today. Apparently Obama doesn’t buy into this theory, because in an under-reported story this week he has agreed with the Russian President to destroy thousands of nuclear weapons. Why? This would be like the New York Yankees giving back some of their World Series victories, because they feel bad for the other teams. No country fears the U.S. anymore. We have become a lamb in a world full of wolves.
